The Long Weekend: Monday

On Monday we joined our cousins and friends at a park to acknowledge Australia Day. It was lovely to spend the day with friends and family, and although it did get insufferably hot, the lake was a good cooling down tool!

Looks like you had lots of fun! What exactly is Australia Day? You'll have to excuse my ignorance but we don't celebrate it here in the UK!

Suzanne: We celebrate Australia Day to remember when Captain Arthur Phillip raised the British flag at Sydney Cove on his arrival with the first fleet. He was claiming Australia under the British rule and sovereignty.
He did this on 26 January 1788.

Madd: Our cousins organised the day. You may have seen Bethany's blog a few times when I have put a link to her name or on my side-bar. You should check it out!

Bethany, it's funny how we perceive ourselves sometimes. I think you look beautiful.
