♥ 40's Hair-style ♥

After four years of growing my hair, I have finally decided to get rid of it... from waist-length to shoulder-length. It was very cheap, too: Mum makes a good hairdresser, and the cost is zero! Jess said it looks very 40's, hence the title; I must say though, that the bottom two shots don't show that very well!

^Before^.
^After^.

When my hair used to be tied up it came just above my waist... the difference is sooo nice!

Rock Climbing

When Mum and Dad went away for a five day holiday a little while back they wanted to reward us for not burning the house down, so they shouted we four girls to see "A Christmas Carol" 3D, and the boys were to go rock climbing. The boys' reward had to be postponed for a few weeks, but on the Tuesday we were able to go. I say "we" because the boys would obviously need supervising, and Bek and I sacrificed our morning to help (*ahem*). Dad wanted Mum to go too, so along went the eight of us to the best rock climbing shed in town.

Jamie was very adventurous. Dad offered a prize for the one who reached the highest of the wall; Jamie and Robert raced each other for it.

Jordan and I.

The belayers. Once you let go of the wall your belayer has complete control over whether you reach the floor or remain swinging in the air. Mum and Jamie had a great time keeping Bek hanging over their heads for a while :P

Rob liked this device better than anything else. He had a lot of fun jumping on to the padding.

We were impressed with how much 'ground' Jamie covered on this one; he managed to get just above the stairs.

Me belaying.

Can you see Jamie up near the roof? He went four rungs higher and touched it, beating Rob.

Christmas Day

Aren't they so cute together? Here they are awaiting the present opening eagerly!

Daniel and on-lookers.
Jordan opening his presents.

A present of such a shape and size can't be mistaken...

... Jamie and his new guitar! Doesn't it look snazzy?

Dan and his scooter and helmet.
Me in my new dress.

All of the boys, minus two.

Bek helping out in the kitchen.

Taking in the sweet, fuzziness of cider... yum!

I don't know what the go is with having it on her cheek... she's cute though :P

Michael eating his dinner.

Dishing up the food :)

A-not-to-be-taken-seriously computer geek.

The three eldest.
We certainly had a wonderful day... especially with the rain! Please comment and let me know how your day was :) Oh, and it's only 364 days left till Christmas... aren't you excited?!

Christmas Eve

This year Jess, Bek, and I organised a surprise Pass the Parcel, as something fun to do during the day.
In it we had: charades, Spicks 'n' Specks, Bible verses, a Santa hat, a reindeer headband, pictionary, celebrity heads, and at the end of it all there was the main prize: a Christmas DVD.

Michael was crying because we had to turn the music off when a new layer needed to be opened. He loves music :P

(below are a few of the other things we did during the day)
Jamie digging into the eggnog! Eggnog is a traditional Christmas Eve food source in our house :)

The Christmas Eve feast!
Buche De Noel, made for Christmas day.

Michael eating the lollies off Karli's ginger-bread house.

I hope you're all enjoying your holidays and have a very fun and blessed time tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!!

The Night Before Christmas

I know I posted this same song last year, but I couldn't help posting it again. It is one of my favourite Christmas songs! I hope you all have a very merry Christmas :)

Daniel

Today Daniel Joseph has reached his 8th year of living in this world and being a part of our family. I remember the night he was born, I was woken up (sleeping in the same room with Bek, in a bunk-bed) at 7 o'clock in the morning by Jess, who was shaking me and saying "Rach, wake up. The baby's home and it's a boy!" I murmured something and went on sleeping. Next thing I heard Bek leaping out of bed like a bolt of lightning and yelling excitedly and tearing through the house to Mum's and Dad's room. Naturally, I followed suit. Daniel's crying was high pitch, which was very un-masculine, but cute :)

The photos below were taken early this morning, so he looks very sleepy :0

In his new cap.

With his impressive water-gun.
Watch out!! He's gonna blast you! This afternoon he is going to a friend's water theme birthday party, and I have a feeling he's going to have a lot of fun!
Happy Birthday, Daniel!!

Bob is back again...

I think this new hairstyle makes me look like a more serious person.

Yeah! Yeah it definitely does.

NOT!
