Autumn

One of the many things I love about Autumn is nature ~ the flowers, orange leaves, the grass as green as ever, and to make it all the more beautiful, the rain making it smell and look so fresh. Jess and I took these photos this afternoon, just after the rain had passed.

Shadow

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched... but are felt in the heart."-Helen Keller

"God is the friend of silence.See how nature- trees, flowers, grass -grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls."-Mother Teresa

Jane Austen Ball

On Saturday night we four girls attended our 4th Jane Austen Ball. Early last year we had Regency dancing lessons for 10 weeks, so we have been able to put what we know to good use!

Crazy Earrings

A little while ago we had some friends stay, and one of their girls wore a pair of earrings that was made of assorted beads in various colours. Jess suggested I give it a shot with the beads I have and... today I did it!
They are hoops, with blue, pink, white, green, orange and yellow beads that come in various shapes and sizes. Jess and Beka have already offered to pay me more than the usual price for them. I think I might end up making more than just a few pairs!

Easter Eggs, Activities and Hot Cross Buns

This Easter we decided to do something different from the usual traditions. Mum read out to us Matthew 26- 28, and we were given papers to fill out about the death and Resurrection of Jesus.
One of them was a word search...
...And the other a cross word puzzle.

Then the little children helped Mum dye eggs. The eggs represent new life.

The finished products.

This design was so strange! It looks like a spider web.
The speckled ones were my favourite :)
And we always have Hot Cross Buns! This new type we have never had before, but we've heard that they're nice. I hope so!

New Blog Look

What do you think of my new layout? I have been trying to find a picture of music notes to go with my title since September when I started my blog, but I tried in vain.

The other day when I was practicing my flute I had a thought of lying it (the flute) on top of the music I was playing. I put the camera level with the sheet then took the photo. It turned out so well that Beka suggested I put it behind the title on my blog.

After playing around with it for a while and getting a new background (the polka dots and bows), I was satisfied, which I've never been with my blog before.

I'd love to know what you all think of it :)

Ice-skating

I've finally got around to doing a post of when we went ice-skating last week. It was unusually cold inside the rink and there was a bit of a draw back as we were skating amongst a few professionals and others having lessons, but we had fun nonetheless!

A wisp of hair with skaters behind.

Bek smooth as ever while I try to keep my balance.

My Flute

Today I had my 5th flute lesson with Cath. It went really well, I'm learning three songs: "O God, Our Help", "Ode to Joy" and "Be Thou My Vision". Although with the last one I haven't actually been able to play it yet, as I'm still learning the sharps. And I also have high and low register scales, arpeggios, musicianship and the technical side of things to work on ~ which I actually enjoy! You may have read on my later posts that my flute arrived last week, which is helpful when I have lessons because now we don't have to share Cath's anymore :P

Jordan

Today Jordan turned 11. Dad took him and Jamie to a Men's Breakfast held at our church and afterwards they went go-carting. Tonight we are watching "Prince Caspian". Here are some facts about Jordan:
1). He has Dad's sense of humour. Poor child.
2). He is a hard worker, outside.
3). He is tall for his age.
4). He likes tennis.
5). He is mostly an extrovert, but can be very introverted, at times.
6). He hates having his photo taken but is very photogenic.
7). Before he was two he had travelled to New Zealand, Apia, Honolulu and Los Angeles.

Robert set the table for lunch and decorated Jordan's plate.

Upon receiving a watch.
Excited about his Prince tennis racquet and carrier. In the afternoon they went to the tennis court in Bungendore to try it out.
