The Joys of Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching! Cards are being received, music is playing, presents are secretly being bought and hidden and I think that we are all starting to feel the Christmas Spirit at long last!

Oh, could we keep the Christmas thrill,
The goad of gladness and good will,
The lift of laughter and the touch
of kindled hands that utter much...

And part of the congregation.
A man with great talent, his future looks promising!

Cinderella

" I worry about the five minutes or five days or five years ahead. Or I look over my shoulder and say, "boy, that was great back there" or " I should have done this back there".
But I'm really trying to learn the importance of showing up in the moment-the good ones, the hard ones, the happy ones, the sad ones-every single moment.
I want to try to be engaged in these moments in between. That's why I wrote "Cinderella" as a reminder to myself.
I hope it encourages you to do the same. "
Steven Curtis Chapman

Here is the Cinderella song.

Tank Mural

For some time now Rebekah has been meaning to paint a mural on our tank; today she finally got around to it and did an excellent job!
On the side, next to the brick wall, she painted a vine going up to the wall and along the bottom of the tank, until it reached the flowers of the garden, she did hydrangeas, yellow daisies and a few other types of flowers, and also sitting amongst the grass is a rabbit of whom you can see only the top half.

A close up of the rabbit.

There will probably be up-dates on the tank as Beka puts a few more ideas from her head onto it.

Aled Jones

Young Aled sings Bridge Over Troubled Waters

New Hobbies...

Recently I have started a new hobby; beading earrings. It is so simple that you don't need a pattern, even though you can do teared and other types.
So, I have done around five pairs of which Jess bought two :) And the next local markets I shall try to sell more.

Here are photos of a few of my creations.

Aled Jones

I am sorry that I have only been blogging on the same man singing different songs, but I hope that you shall put up with it for a few more days, as I have only a couple more to go.

So today, I decided to do Marble Halls, which is done even more beautifully by Enya, whom you can see on the side.

William's 7th Birthday

On the fifteenth of this month we were able to help celebrate William's 7th birthday.
It was a lovely evening with the usual talking, eating and being able to catch up again with friends and relatives. There were games that had been organised for the children and some of us enjoyed watching them happen very much :)

The first activity was decorating candle
holders with glitter, stickers, felt cut-outs and ribbon.

Driving Miss Maggie.

Pin the baby on the mother penguin...

...And half of the results.
The cake!

And lastly, 'Pass the Parcel'.

Aled Jones

I have decided to post every week a song from one of my favourite artists, and thought I would start with Aled Jones:

You Raise Me Up.

I am sorry that I cannot get the actual video here, the link will have to suffice.

Craft Folders

These folders I made are useful for either recipes or a scrapbook. I made two, so they could be used for either one. I have only a photo of one though, the other being very similar. It was relatively easy. Jess helped me with the first one as sewing machines and I don't seem to get along very well, but the second one I worked out alone.

In case you're interested I got the instructions from The Homespun Heart

Lily's 3rd Birthday

On Sunday we had a party to celebrate Lily's 3rd birthday. We had roughly thirty people come, all of Lily's choosing, so the house was pretty full. Thankfully the deck was in use by this time as it came in handy.

While the boys played soccer and the adults talked, the children had their faces painted, went on a treasure hunt, raced to see who could put a nappy on their doll the fastest, chose prizes, blew bubbles, coloured pictures and more besides!

As the theme was Pooh Bear, these were the
invites that were sent out.

The gazebo comes in handy once again!

Two very adorable sisters.

The group of children who had their faces painted.

Butterfly Erin.

Pussycat Anna.

Dalmatian Daniel and Butterfly Lily.

Fishing through the prize box.

Chasing and running from the bubbles!

The bubble machine was a big hit!

Then came the pictures!

The Rose

I say love it is a flower

Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

Raindrops

The rain has moved on
And left a new day
Nothing seems to move; everything is still
It's just a perfect day.

The shadows and light
That move with the wind
Hidden violets grow, splashed with summer spray
Just another perfect day.

And all of this world
Is for children who play
Days that never end always should remain
Another perfect day.

Colin Towns
